How to join

Jack in

Under a minute from the title screen to the rooftops. Free, vanilla Minecraft, nothing to install.

  1. Start Minecraft Java

    Version 26.x is the one the servers run. Older clients can join too, a few blocks may look different to you. Bedrock (phones, consoles) is not supported.

  2. Add the server

    Multiplayer → Add Server → paste neonreach.gg as the address. Leave "Server Resource Packs" on: the city's look comes from it.

  3. Land in the District

    You spawn on the market deck. Look around, ride the trains, sit in the Sky Lounge. Type /rain on for rain at night.

  4. Take a portal

    The stairwell hut leads to the Neon Reach RPG, which is in development and not open to the public yet. The elevator goes to the SMP, the cable car to Minigames. /lobby brings you back from anywhere.

Before you jump

When can I play the RPG?

Not yet. Neon Reach, the RPG, is in development and not open to the public. The lobby is open now: join it, look around, and you will see its portal.

Does it cost anything?

No. Every server is free to play. Ranks in the shop are cosmetic and only support the network.

Do I need mods or a special launcher?

No. The lobby's look is a server resource pack, sent when you join. For voice chat on the SMP you can add the Simple Voice Chat mod, but you can play without it.

Why can I not enter the SMP?

The SMP runs a whitelist so the world stays in good hands. The lobby is open to everyone; ask for access on Discord.

The game says "Outdated client" right after a restart.

A server that just restarted needs about thirty seconds before it answers version checks. Wait a moment and join again.

I am stuck or fell off the deck.

Falling below the city brings you back to spawn. From any server, /lobby takes you to the market deck.
